​Sophia Kokonas

Sophia grew up in Chicago to Greek parents and always had a love for her Hellenic background, especially for her ancestors' ingenuity in theater.  After having starred in several productions of ancient Greek dramas and comedies in Chicago, she was accepted into the the Atlantic Theater Company's Conservatory program here in New York City.  There she founded her own theater company and produced and directed Aristophanes' Lysistrata at the East River Park Amphitheater. 

​Sophia is thrilled to go back to her roots for Orpheus Luxury Collection "Symposiums in Support" event benefiting the JLuce Foundation's launch of their Hellenic Fund.  Even more excited to be performing one of her favorite comedic scenes of all time from Aristophanes' masterpiece "Lysistrata" in support of this wonderful cause.   A special thank you to Ms. Georgia Nomikos, Owner of Orpheus Luxury Collection for extending this opportunity and both her and Ms. Eleni Tsagianni, Marketing & Sales Director,  for their endless love and support.  We need more women like you in the world!
